More about Beatriz Pérez Pérez:
In 2024, Beatriz joined CareNet as a researcher of the CUSAM Project (Women Carers of People Diagnosed with Severe Mental Disorders: Challenges for Democratic and Collective Care), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Equality. She is currently an MSCA-PREPARED Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Disability Law and Policy (CDLP) at the University of Galway.
Her research focuses on the intersection of human rights, madness, disability, mental health, and care policies, employing a range of methodologies grounded in the humanities and social sciences. In particular, her work engages with Foucauldian and feminist genealogy, as well as action research and qualitative approaches—including ethnography, reflective communities, case studies, and in-depth interviews—and is informed by critical disability studies, mad studies, gender studies, and decolonial studies.
