More about Pablo Alonso García:
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology (2022) and a Master’s degree in Research Methodology in the Social Sciences: Innovations and Applications (2024), both from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
He is currently a doctoral researcher at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), working as part of the Doctoral Programme in Society, Technology and Culture (STC) and the Care and Preparedness in the Network Society (CareNet) research group.
Entitled Tentacular Territories, his doctoral research focuses on octopus farming at both the experimental and industrial levels, exploring how the intertwining of scientific, social and economic practices in aquaculture creates multiple existences and territories that extend beyond the human realm. The research is based on multi-sited ethnography, inspired by the intersection of science and technology studies (STS) and multispecies studies.
He is also a member of the Artefakto Group, a network of researchers specialising in science, technology and society (STS) studies.
He divides his time between Barcelona, Madrid, and Vigo.
