Blanca Callén

Presentation

PhD in Social Psychology (UAB, 2010). A full professor in the Department of Social Psychology at UAB, she was a member of the CareNet group from 2022 to 2025. She was a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Science Studies (Lancaster University, 2012-2014). She works in the field of Science and Technology Studies (STS) and collective political action, and her research focuses on material cultures and community responses to the ecosocial crisis. In recent years, she has focused on (e-)waste – from users and infrastructure – and on cultures of repair in the context of the climate crisis. She is a co-founder and member of the Restarters BCN collective.
