Laia Ventura García

Laia Ventura Garcia holds a PhD in Anthropology and Communication, a Master’s degree in Medical Anthropology and International Health from Rovira i Virgili University (URV), and degrees in Social and Cultural Anthropology and Psychology from the University of Barcelona. She has participated in research and intervention projects in the field of health in Guatemala, Catalonia and the United Kingdom. Her main research interests focus on health processes, toxicity, risk and reproductive justice. She has been a postdoctoral researcher at the CareNet group (IN3-UOC) and the Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society (CBSS) at the University of Edinburgh, on a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship. She has also been a visiting researcher at the Institute for Health Equity at San Francisco State University and at the CBSS, where she remains affiliated as a visiting researcher. She is currently a member of the Centre for Research in Medical Anthropology (MARC-URV) and the Interuniversity Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies (IIEDG).
