Following the research and pedagogical work carried out within the project “Women Absent from Collective Memory: The Mundet Campus Concentration Camp“, three videos were produced featuring interviews with historians who explore different historical layers of the Mundet campus.
The first video, with Ramon Naya, focuses on the period when the site functioned as a military barracks in 1938, offering insight into its role during the final stages of the Spanish Civil War:
The second video, with Aram Monfort, examines the transformation of the site into a concentration camp between 1939 and 1940, shedding light on the mechanisms of repression and the experiences associated with this period:
The third video, with Neus Moyano, addresses the subsequent use of the space during the 1940s as a shelter for impoverished populations, highlighting the social reconfiguration of the site in the postwar context:
Together, these videos provide a situated and layered understanding of the campus’s history, while also reflecting on the role of women, often absent from dominant narratives, and on the importance of democratic memory in engaging critically with the past in the present.
