Rocío Thovar

Rocío Thovar is a graduate in Psychology (UOC, 2015), with a Mention in Social Psychology, and a Master’s in Citizenship and Human Rights: Ethics and Politics (UB, 2018). She is a PhD in Citizenship and Human Rights (UB), following the Bioethics and Applied Ethics pathway, thanks to a 2017 FPU pre-doctoral contract from the Spanish Ministry of Education.

Their doctoral thesis addresses the problematisation of the treatment of animals driven by the Animalist Movement, with the aim of studying the political action of this social movement and the impact of Animal Ethics on the public sphere.
