I hold a PhD in Education from the University of Barcelona and a Diploma in Social Education from Ramon Llull University. I am an associate professor in Psychology and Education Sciences at the UOC. I am a member of the CareNet Research Group. Care and Preparedness in the Network Society (TRANSIC). My research focuses on Feminist Disability Studies, Critical Pedagogy and Social Anthropology. I have been a visiting professor at the University of Antioquia (Colombia), the Autonomous University of Mexico, the National Pedagogical University-Hidalgo (Mexico), the Austral University of Chile, and the National University of Entre Ríos (Argentina), among others. I have directed and participated in various competitive research projects for the national plan and other public bodies. I am currently leading the research project Democratic and Collective Care Networks: An Innovative Model of Community Mental Health Care (2026-2028). I+P Call for Proposals from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. I have directed the research project Women Caregivers of People with Severe Mental Disorders: Challenges for Democratic and Collective Care. (2023 Call for Proposals). Ministry of Equality. I have been co-IP of the GCM-BCN project. Collaborative Medication Management. Collective mental health, rights and citizenship in Barcelona. I am currently participating as a researcher in the project Rethinking the social aspect of mental health: mapping and analysis of initiatives promoting autonomy in Spain (SOCIALment). (2024-2027), as well as the project Citizen Laboratory in Mental Health: Public Policies and Democratic Innovation from Situated Experience (2016-2028). I+P Call for Proposals. Category B. Previously, I was a researcher on two projects under the national R&D plan: 2012-2014. Expertise, democracy and social mobilisation: action by groups concerned with the promotion of independent living in Spain; 2008-2011 and CONDEPCIU Project. “Techno-scientific controversies and citizen participation in policies and care for dependency.
I am a member of the International Network of Researchers and Participants on Educational Integration/Inclusion (RIIE). Since 2022, I have been part of the International Observatory of Autonomous Medication Management Practices (Brazil). Member of MARC ‘Medical Anthropology Research Centre’, Rovira i Virgili University. Currently, I am also a member of the FFCCSM Healthcare Ethics Committee. I have directed the Contemporary Pedagogies editorial collection at the Open University of Catalonia. I am a member of the academic committee of the sociology programme at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. I am a collaborating professor in various master’s programmes at the Austral University of Chile (current accreditation). I have (co-)directed the Postgraduate Course in Collective Mental Health (UOC-URV). I have been a reviewer and external evaluator for national and international scientific publications. I am a section editor for Athenea Digital. Journal of social thought and research.
In 2023, I received the Museari Award, which recognises the work of professionals, institutions and groups in the defence of human rights and sexual diversity. Awarded in the teaching category. In 2019, I received the II Frederic Company i Franquesa Award for Pedagogical Essay. “Inclusion vs. segregation. Approaches from pedagogy”, with a mention from COPEC (Association of Pedagogues of Catalonia). In 2024, I received an internal scholarship from the UOC as part of the Research Intensification Programme for the period 2024-2026. Aid plan from the Vice-Rectorate for Strategic Planning and Research.
